Dr. Laiteerapong’s research is focused on individualizing the care for patients with chronic disease, especially diabetes and mental health problems, and designing health system-level interventions to improve the quality of care and physician-patient experience. She develops and uses mathematical models to understand the impact of health policy decisions for diabetes and primary care settings, and studies and leads the integration of behavioral health services into primary care.
