In 2019, the Analytic Interventions Unit (AIU) was formed to identify key clinical applications of predictive analytics and support the development, deployment and evaluation of such initiatives at UChicago Medicine.

ID Equitable Healthcare Lab, a partnership between UCM and the Illinois Institute of Design, uses design methods to examine health systems’ processes and develop inclusive strategies and solutions.

UChicago Medicine is on the forefront of the US healthcare market’s transformative change but we cannot do it ourselves. Collaboration is key to success and UCM wants to make navigation with our health system easier. HDSI has created a streamlined process for UChicago Medicine to learn about new ideas and partnership opportunities to improve clinical practice, patient experience and workflow.

Research and pilot projects are an important part of the work that keeps University of Chicago Medicine “At the Forefront.” Many projects impact hospital operations and technology in what may seem like simple ways but can be quite complex. PRIOR helps to educate investigators during the planning process, ensuring researchers and hospital staff understand the impact on health system operations and facilitating successful implementation of their project.

To protect our patients, investigators, and the institution, a formal review process is required to ensure clear distinction between human subjects research and quality improvement initiatives. QI Determination is required for all quality improvement projects that will be shared outside of UChicago Medicine.
