Dr. Laiteerapong has dedicated her career to developing and evaluating systems-level interventions that aim to improve primary care, with an emphasis on integrating behavioral health care. Additionally, she is a diabetes health services and outcomes researcher with expertise in microsimulation, cost-effectiveness analysis, and longitudinal epidemiology.
Dr. Laiteerapong is deeply committed to medical education, as well as mentorship and sponsorship of trainees at all levels. She teaches research methods to undergraduates, medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty in her lab, as well as clinical medicine in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr. Laiteerapong is a Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Section of General Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine, with a secondary appointment in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience
