Louise Heelan, PhD, is a Data Scientist in Data & Analytics. She works on predictive modeling to improve hospital operations and patient care by using machine learning and agent-based modeling techniques. The analyses are developed using a combination of Python, Java, and SQL for model creation and validation, and SQL to gather hospital data. In addition she develops software to automate and improve previously manual processes. She comes to the organization with a background in high energy particle physics, where she played leading roles on the ATLAS experiment in CERN, Switzerland. Louise has her B.Sc. in Honors Physics from University of Waterloo, Canada and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Elementary Particle Physics from Carleton University, Canada.
