Lauren is the Patient Care Manager of the Comer Cancer Center, Special Procedures Area, Pediatric Sedation and Vascular Access Teams. She currently holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing in Healthcare Administration and Leadership from Loyola University in Chicago and recently started her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree at UIC this fall. Lauren began her career in 2016 and has over 8 years of nursing experience in pediatrics. Lauren’s current position of Patient Care Manager allows her to organize and lead a team of 35 nurses, while overseeing daily operations and fiscal responsibilities. She co-chairs the Nursing Retention and Recognition committee for the entire organization and is the lead for the PIV Infiltration and Extravasation Committee. Lauren strives to innovate nursing practice and look for methods that will provide optimal patient outcomes. She empowers clinicians to effectively collaborate and integrate practice that will improve quality and safety for the overall organization.
