Deborah Burnet, MD, has a variety of research and clinical interests, particularly in the area of disease prevention. She is currently involved in research to examine the effectiveness of community-based programs to halt the rise of obesity and type 2 diabetes in African-American youth.
As a leader in academic medicine, Dr. Burnet is also dedicated to improving medical education by training physicians on cultural competence as well as clinical topics.
