Manish N. Shah, MD MPH is an emergency physician and Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Wisconsin, where he also serves as the Vice Chair of Research and holds the John & Tashia Morgridge Chair of Emergency Medicine Research. Dr. Shah has dedicated his career to improving the care delivered to older adults suffering from acute illnesses or injuries. Throughout his career, he has worked to develop and test innovative approaches of providing older adults acute illness and injury care that is safe, convenient, and effective. His work has particularly advanced the science supporting programs that use telemedicine and community-based emergency medical technicians and paramedics to care for older adults. Dr. Shah’s recent work has increasingly focused on helping one of the most vulnerable groups of older adults: those with dementia. With support from the National Institute on Aging, he is now one of the first geriatric emergency medicine researchers studying specifically how to provide persons living with dementia and their care partners the acute illness and injury care they need.

Event will be held both in-person and online:
