The University of Chicago Medicine’s annual Quality & Safety Symposium is an opportunity for faculty, staff, and trainees to showcase quality improvement projects from across the health system.

Get inspired by the expansive number of quality improvement projects that have recently been completed or are in progress.

Engage with colleagues to gain insights, practical knowledge, and techniques to address quality issues in patient care.

Learn about internal UCM resources and strategies to achieve sustainable improvements throughout the healthcare continuum of care.

Submissions for all programs are OPEN and will close on September 8, 2026.

Innovation Grant Program

UChicago Medicine Innovation Grant Program supports impactful projects that use research-quality methods to design, implement, and evaluate innovative solutions to health system operational challenges.  HDSI will fund up to $50,000 for each one-year project, plus access to data with an analyst using the MDClone tool, biostats support, human-centered design mentorship and project management.

Building Trust & Choosing Wisely Challenge

Building Trust in Practice and Choosing Wisely™ are two pivotal programs combined into one UChicago Medicine event focused on improving patient care and value. The program aims to enhance outcomes, efficiency, and satisfaction for both patients and providers. Staff, nurses, students, and trainees from any discipline may propose a solution for one of the 2026 themes.
