Dr. Pettit’s research interests are focused on the optimization of antimicrobial prescribing through targeted stewardship efforts.  She studies the impact of antimicrobial stewardship interventions, rapid diagnostics, and electronic medical record optimization on antimicrobial prescribing/clinical outcomes.  She has also been engaged in several quality improvement initiatives as the Pharmacy Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program to improve antibiotic prescribing practices hospital-wide.  The primary goal of her research and role at UCM is to promote mindful, judicious, and safe prescribing of antimicrobials.
