Doug Dirschl – MD

Dr. Dirschl, a nationally recognized orthopaedic surgeon, administrator, teacher and researcher, is the Chairman of UChicago Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine and the Lowell T. Coggeshall Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery. A past president of the American Orthopaedic Association, his research has focused on improving the consistency of how fractures are classified, on decisionmaking, and on improving bone health care for fracture prevention.
