Teresita Hogan – MD

Dr. Hogan is Associate Professor Medicine, Sections of Emergency Medicine and Geriatrics & Palliative Care.  Dr. Hogan is a leader in geriatric emergency medicine, with expertise in emergency pain management, quality improvement implementation, and graduate medical education. She is board-certified in Emergency Medicine.  Dr. Hogan is a founding member of the Geriatric Emergency Department Collaborative (GEDC) and has worked for the last four years implementing Geriatric Emergency Department Guideline[i] (GEDG) based initiatives in the EDs of nine leading hospitals across the United States. Dr. Hogan and the GEDC take guideline recommendations and turn them into clinical quality projects at hospitals across the US.  Dr. Hogan is a founding member of the American College of Emergency Medicine, Geriatric Emergency Department Accreditation (GEDA) Criteria, and serves on the GEDA Board of Governors, determining which departments met accreditation criteria.  She is a member of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine Academy of Geriatric Emergency Medicine. The academy works to develop best practices in the care of ED elders, and advocate for elder initiatives.
